I have an amazing trip experience just recently. I mentioned earlier that Koh Kong is my most favorite province of Cambodia and it is for the reasons!

Like promised in my previous article of Tatai experience, this time I would like to bring you to this special site that aims at wildlife conservation and forest protection. It is called Cardamom Tented Camp, the glamping & resort that lies along the Trapeang Roung stream (3rd bridge on National Road #48 from Phnom Penh side). Location of the site is here. It was 2N3D trip to the real jungle of Cambodia on the cardamom mountain.

Conceptsthe concept of this resort is 100% eco friendly, no plastic while water is refilled and waste can be recycled and electricity is 100% on solar system. Wildlife can be spotted easily and benefits from the resort goes back to support conservation.

Telephone and internet is almost impossible, with very low coverage. However, it is so relaxing, very good for family and kid aged - 8-14. It has so many activities which include:

  • Kayaking, I love this the most and the longest was 4km rowing to the ranger station. The morning rowing allows us to see and hear bird singing, the tranquil of water and the green view of trees along the river, reflection on the water is like the painting or 3D view.
  • Ziplining, kids love this the most and it was so much fun for them.
  • Swimming, natural swimming pool just in front of the resort. It is the pier where boat comes and go but it is very clean and safe to swim and we love it. I swam across it twice (75m width)
  • Trekking, you have half day activities which to trek to the ranger station which is 4km away and coming back with kayaking. The level of trekking is 1, for the level of 1-10
  • Stargazing (milky way can be seen by naked eyes), from our tent, we could see them clearly. My friend and I sat in front of our tent and talked for hours while looking at the stars, milky way and shooting stars. It was a very enjoyable experience.
